A plate that's just the right size.
Sometimes we just want a little bit of something decadent. Or a small bite, or a snack, or to split an appetizer. (Sometimes we also want a lot of something decadent, but that is a whole different story.) We asked one of our favorite potters to make us plates to match, and she created these beautiful porcelain pieces. We love that the rectangular shape stands out from all the round ones in the world, and you can either get a plain set or one with a hand-painted blue design.

Meet the Maker
Art et Manufacture
Edith Bourgault discovered ceramics out of the blue, but was so impacted by the craft that she immediately became a ceramic artist. Her collection, Art et Manufacture, gives ordinary objects a decorative edge, without ever losing sight of their original modern, utilitarian look. We think her pieces strike the perfect balance of art and industry.

My favorite snacking plate
Everything made by this artisan has made its way into my cupboards because of these plates. Each has its own character and is that just-right size for everything I want to serve to myself or guests. I use as appetizer and dessert plates for guests, and for me it makes a piece of buttered toast, half sandwich or any other snack a treat taste that much better. I’ve had them for years and with heavy use they never chip or stain.
