They wanted an alternative to plastic that was more durable than glass, and landed on stainless steel as the best option. I wanted to reduce my use of plastic to do my part for Mother Earth but was very hesitant because I love my straws. These reusable straws surprised me because since they are stainless steel, every liquid that passes through them turns super cold!!! I love them. Also they are surprisingly easy to clean.
