Sometimes, it just makes sense to go into the rock business. Brooklyn Slate Company started when Sean Tice and Kristy Hadeka visited Kristy's family quarry in upstate New York and found a number of purposes for some of pieces they brought back -- and a number of fans amongst their friends. Now they source the stuff from the quarry, transport the pieces (some of which were destined to be road cover or baseball diamonds) to their Red Hook studio and cut, clean, and chip at the stones to make their final products. We think they rock.

Cheese anyone?
Beautifully made, I just love the whole set with its burlap bag and wooden knife and chalk for writing the name of the cheese. My only issue was that it is hard to write anything on the board with the pencils that are included. cheese looks gorgeous set out on this board. A joy to present to guests and family.
Awesome for Charcuterie
Great size for small parties. The soapstones are a very nice touch for labeling what is being served.
