Protect your butter.
Here's an earthen, French-country way to keep your butter soft and spreadable. Originating in the late 1800s, this method involves adding water to the base of the keeper so that, coupled with anywhere from 1/2 a stick to a full stick of butter, it creates an airtight seal.

Great product
Beautiful. Keeps the butter cool and ready to spread. I have this as a gift but have one for myself.
Chic and useful
We have had a butter keeper for a while, but it was a white, very "country" looking one. Was so happy to see this one, which goes with our coastal modern design. Tis one also holds more than 1/4 cup of butter, which is all our old one could store.
Great product
This is my first butter keeper, and I'm so glad I got one. I was a little nervous when I saw reviews about the butter falling out, getting moldy, etc. However, we keep it clean, refresh the water, and most importantly smoosh the butter in firmly when at room temp to a) remove air pockets and b) ensure it doesn't fall out, and we've had zero issues. Definitely recommend.
