It all started with a disappointing chocolate bunny: back in 2004 Sara Hart wondered why so many of the fun confections looked so awful. So she started marketing her own chocolate -- specifically, “Icons,” sculptures of religious and cultural figures that were hand-gilded with 23-karat gold leaf. She moved on to creating several other sweet treats, opened up a storefront, and was even named “The Rising Star” in The Next Generation Chocolatier Awards.
