Fun and functional

great idea and nice design

This works really well for those of us who want to aerate our younger wines, and is easier than using the handheld, by-the-glass aerator we have had for years. It is also fun to turn the bottle upside down over the decanter (it is pretty securely held by the aerator/stopper, but we hold it to make sure). You can leave the wine in the decanter, or you can re-aerate back into the bottle itself. I liked it so much I gave it as a gift to several friends. My only complaint--and it doesn't take a star away--is that it can be hard to air-dry out the interior (I use a paper towel wrapped around a dry bottle brush), because the neck/mouth of the decanter is relatively narrow compared to the bowl. Not unlike many decanters, which is why I don't think it is a design flaw for this model.
