Wave the flag.
Vintage copper—is there a dreamier sight? Whether it’s a gleaming tea kettle or a well-worn (but well-loved!) gratin dish, copper lends easy, warm elegance to a home, without all the stuffiness. We’ve brought you an assortment of stunning, one-of-a-kind finds from Coppermill Kitchen to add to your collection (you won't find them anywhere else!), exclusive to the Food52 Shop.
This pan's got a solid brass handle secured with three copper rivets; though it says HELVETIA on it (that's Latin for Switzerland), it was made in England. (For good measure, it's got both the Swiss and British flags, as well as its maker's mark, "LEON JAEGGI & SONS ltd MANUFACTORING COPPERSMITHS LONDON & STAINES.") After over 130 years, we say it doesn't really matter where it was made—it's paid its dues.
