Gold-Dipped Pinch Bowls

A necessity, no, but so very pretty! I use one in my bathroom, as a small jewelry catch all, and the other as a salt pinch bowl.

Purchased the charcoal for a friend. The finish is matte as expected. The color in the pictures appears saturated and evenly applied - kind of dramatic/stunning. In reality, however, the finish is actually a bit streaky and you can see the natural stoneware color through the charcoal. The bottom inside of the bowls is also not smooth as pictured - both of my bowls have little peaks sticking up, which have not been adequately glazed over, so not only does the inside of the bowl feel pointy, but you can actually see cream-colored peaks inside the bowl (really obvious in contrast with the charcoal glaze). Edges look nice, as pictured - kind of ruffly in an organic way. I didn't expect them to feel completely smooth, but what I didn't expect was for one of the bowls to feel kind of gritty running my fingers over the edges. The charcoal bowl is fine if you are looking for something pretty w/rustic touches. But don't expect the polished/dramatic piece pictured here - Check out Fisheye Brooklyn's own site to see a more accurate picture of the product (mine still look streakier than the ones there). Was thinking of getting the white ones for myself, but not so sure now.
