Hear this bowl roar.
Give your french onion soup a mighty vessel—this iconic porcelain design can handle high heat (it’s already been fired at flaming temps for its non-porous, non-chipping finish). But you don’t have to stop at soup. These bowls look right at home in the breakfast nook filled with yogurt parfait. The French classic is here in white or go a little more mod with black instead.

Revol Porcelain France
Saint-Uze, France
Revol's been around for a while -- we're talking since-1768-a-while. During a walk in the Drôme countryside, the Revol brothers, Joseph-Marie and François, noticed some unusual white streaks on the ground which they quickly identified as a kaolin (type of clay) deposit. They went ahead and established a factory in the area and since then have been producing and exporting their beautiful porcelain. Vive le Revol!

Unique and Beautiful
I bought these as a gift. The host was thrilled, and served the most delicious French onion soup in them. They are very comfortable to hold and eat out of. They were safe in the oven. The quality was great! We hand-washed them just to be safe.
Love these black bowls
I use these for French onion soup an it makes the family feel like we are someplace special. We also use them to serve appetizers.
Classic and sexy
I have always wanted these in the classic white but never pulled the trigger. I did not hesitate when I saw them in black matte! So rich and stylish, while the black really makes the lion pop. Like everything at Food 52, these are exquisite!
