Revol Porcelain France
Saint-Uze, France
Revol's been around for a while -- we're talking since-1768-a-while. During a walk in the Drôme countryside, the Revol brothers, Joseph-Marie and François, noticed some unusual white streaks on the ground which they quickly identified as a kaolin (type of clay) deposit. They went ahead and established a factory in the area and since then have been producing and exporting their beautiful porcelain. Vive le Revol!

Non-toxic cake pan
I have stopped using non-stick bakeware and plastic products in my kitchen because I learned of all the toxic chemicals they can leach into food. I read that porcelain bakeware that has been tested to be free of lead and cadmium can be the safest option for baking. I have had an excellent experience baking with Emile Henry ceramics that are free of lead and cadmium and meet the California Prop 65, but while they have pie dishes and casserole dishes, they do not appear to have a cake pan. While looking for a ceramic cake pan, I stumbled across this Les Naturels pan by Revol and was pleased to find that Revol products are also lead and cadmium free and meet the California Prop 65 standard.
I ordered my first Round Cake Pan in November and successfully made a 2 tier chocolate cake using the Les Naturels cake pan. It was easy to clean after baking and I appreciated the handles as it made it easier to grip when putting it in the oven and taking it out. I was so pleased that I came back to buy a second cake pan so that I could bake both tiers at the same time and was surprised to see them all on sale. So I went ahead and ordered the square pan for brownies and the tart pan as well.
