Meet the Maker
Kilner
England
In the late 19th century, Kilner revolutionized the way we prep and store our kitchen creations with their patented vacuum seal jar. It works
This is a nice all-in-one solution to start fermenting (though I wouldn't recommend it for kombucha or other fermented drinks because it lacks a pour spout). The air release valve ("burper") works as advertised, and I found that the rubber topper creates a strong seal.
A few days after buying this but before it arrived, I was browsing a local kitchen goods store and found the same jar for half what I paid here, before shipping. Curious, I checked online and there are many sites that will sell for even less than half what I paid here. I don't understand why the markup is so extreme and it made me feel like a bit of a dupe for paying full price for what is, essentially, a jar. Thus the two stars off.
Too big
This was just too big for my needs. Had to send back. Would like to have in a much smaller version.
Great product
I've been wanting to make home made fermented products for quite some time and this set makes it very easy. It's very functional and I love the classic look.
