Better than popping the cork.
History has it that French cavalry soldiers invented "Sabrage" -- a quick way to open Champagne bottles by shearing the top off with a sword. Though it might be easier to just pop the cork, this is one of the best party tricks we've ever seen. It's surprisingly simple to master the technique, and the saber itself is a matchless culinary conversation piece.

Well over a century later, his great-grandson Andrea keeps the family tradition going, using the very same materials as years ago (read: ox horn, boxwood, and steel). The best bit? Every knife is completely handmade by a single artisan, and finished off with the maker’s initials on the blade—wow.
