Made to measure (and pour)
You can give your measuring cups a rest...this handy storage container has you covered. It’s got 12 compartments for your go-to grains, and—get this—each one holds exactly 3/4 cup (perfect for when you’re whipping up a pot of rice, quinoa, lentils, or oatmeal). Time to get cooking? Simply slide open the top and pour. Oh, and with that tall ‘n’ slim profile, this one stows away easy, too.

Ok But Limited Storage Capabilities
When I received the item, it had a non-English label that basically said ‘rice stocker’. When I read Food52’s description about how it could store various grains, including quinoa, I was excited! I use a plethora of different grains and carbs in my kitchen so I bought this to store smaller bought-from-bulk quantities of each, in one, big, organized container. Sadly though, the lid is not tight on the individual sections within, so whatever you have in one inevitably gets mixed in with the next when you turn it. This even happens when the sliding top closure pieces are on. Smaller things, like amaranth and quinoa, are a definite no-go because you will not get the measured amount out without some spilling over from other sections. And forget about putting different types of small things in and expecting them to stay separated. I have found that it works great for one or two varieties of rice at a time or even larger things like lentils and farro. I like the design concept, but the execution is not worth the cost Food52 is charging for a foreign-made piece of plastic.
Storage/measuring device
After I bought this, I realized that if I put the grains in it and throw away the boxes, the cooking directions on the boxes get tossed, too. Not so good.
Genius product
love it - would be nice if there was a funnel included to fill without a mess. Also, a place for writing contents would be helpful without having to write in with a sharpie or attach a label. I need 3-4 more to accomodate all my partially used grains. Love not having tons of bags and boxes lulling about in my pantry.
