Now we’ll always have fresh flowers at the table, thanks to these lovely dishes. They’re faience—that’s an extra-special type tin-glazed dinnerware—and they just so happen to be inspired by the official flower of the court of Louis XIV (the tulip!). Each one is crafted in France’s Loire Valley by highly-skilled artisans who take it from local clay to decorated masterpiece. Oh, and more on that floral pattern: It’s applied completely by hand, then kiln-fired so it’ll last and last (good thing, since these are so heirloom-worthy).
